Licensing procedure
Anyone wishing to offer casino games in Switzerland must have a licence. This licence permits casino games to be played within the casino. The Federal Council determines the number of licences available and grants them for a period of 20 years.
In 2023, the Federal Council awarded new licences for the period from 1 January 2025 until 2044. The following casinos are currently licensed to operate in Switzerland:
Since 1 January 2019, casinos have been able to apply for an extension to their licence in order to offer online casino games. Applications for a licence extension must be submitted to the FGB.
