Legistics is a discipline aimed at devising standards for the form, drafting, enactment and application of legal provisions. The Federal Office of Justice organises the training of legists, who may be lawyers or non-lawyers, through a variety of arrangements. For example, it updates the guidelines on drafting legislation, a complex work that among other things sets out the workflow and stages of the legislative process. It also regularly offers federal administration staff a course on drafting legislation and also organises the Lawmakers' Forum, a network within the federal administration for questions relating to the legislative process.
